Barack Obama 2008 - I know it is usually sudden death for a business to blatantly show it's political leanings but I feel too strongly about Obama and I am too worried about where we are headed if we don't have a big, grass roots driven change VERY soon. I don't expect you will automatically take my word for it - please visit Obama's link and make the decision yourself. I know you will make the right choice.

The Literacy Site - By just clicking the link on The Literacy Site you are donating books to needy children. This site also links to similar projects and is well worth making a daily routine. In the words of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, "It is a great thing to start life with a small number of really good books which are your very own."

BookCrossing - Here is a fab and fun project that tracks the movement of books that are left in unusal places. As they define it: "bookcrossing n. the practice of leaving a book in a public place to be picked up and read by others, who then do likewise." Also a good resource for book reviews, links and other interesting book-related chatter.
IndieBound - This is the first place you should look for your NEW books. A fabulous website with tools so you can buy from local independent booksellers. Includes reviews, recommendations, contests - what more could you want? Read globally, shop locally. (This used to be called BookSense).
Amazon.com - Not only a great book resource but great one-stop-shopping - from office supplies, to toys from health and beauty to home and garden you can get all your shopping done - and have it delivered right to your door. The best in customer service and satisfaction, too! If there is any chance you haven't seen this site you must go now!

The SIBL Project - The Songs Inspired By Literature (SIBL) Project, Inc. is a creative nonprofit producing advocacy and educational materials exclusively for the literacy movement. SIBL uses music as a vehicle to engage, inspire and reinforce the magic of literature and the power of reading. Visit the site today to order the CDs they have produced or to donate. A very worthwhile project.
Hay-On-Wye - We dream of opening our brick and mortar shop here - but first we just want to visit! An entire city in Wales, UK of practically nothing but book shops! Heaven on earth. Let us know if you have ever been - or want to go.
Good Reads - This is a wonderful site for A-type readers (of which I am one). You can keep lists of books "to be read" "currently reading" or "read" and even enter dates for when you finished a book. Also a great social networking site that allows give and take of book reviews, recommendations and discussions. A fun resource for readers.
